Nursery Products provides essential recycling services to communities in San Bernadino County and the surrounding areas. Our work keeps organic material out of landfills and transforms it into compost that farmers use to grow their crops. The composting process we use is endorsed by the federal Environmental Protection Agency and California state regulators.
Our composting enables the communities we serve to meet California’s recycling mandates, including SB 1383, which requires communities to reduce the amount of organic waste sent to landfills by 75 percent by 2025. Our operations also play a vital role in sequestering carbon and reducing greenhouse gas emissions as well as mitigating the amount of methane that would otherwise be released into the atmosphere.
Nursery Products is subject to strict regulation by federal, state, and local authorities, including the Federal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the California Environmental Protection Agency (CalEPA), the Mojave Desert Air Quality Management District, the San Bernardino County Local Enforcement Agency/Division of Environmental Health, CalRecycle, and the Regional Water Quality Control Board – Lahonton Region.
Nursery Products recycles yard clippings, wood, green waste, and biosolids from San Bernardino County and surrounding communities.
No. All materials that we receive and process at Nursery Products are classified by regulators as organic and non-hazardous.
Nursery Products does not accept raw sewage. We recycle biosolids, which are processed, non-hazardous, organic material that is filtered out of water at your local wastewater treatment plants.
No. There is not a burn pit at Nursery Products. In fact, intentionally burning materials we would receive at Nursery Products would undermine our business model by destroying the nutrients in organic material that we need to produce fertilizer and compost.
All operations take place on an engineered pad and berms constructed to protect surface and groundwater in accordance with California state law.
Being good neighbors is important to us and we understand that recent events have called that commitment into question. We hope that the efforts we deployed to resolve the fire and our pledge to continuously improve our operations will address any concerns that this incident may have caused, and we remain committed to restoring our good standing within the community.
